Open Seminar: Women in Leadership - Successful and Authentic as a Female Leader
After a long break from Corona, my colleague Vanessa Giese and I were finally able to organize another face-to-face seminar. We met with seven participants at the Evangelisches Tagungszentrum, Auf dem heiligen Berg, in Wuppertal.
To start, we looked at the definition of leadership. Then we collected the different challenges the participants perceived in fulfilling their leadership role. Together we searched for causes and possible solutions. In the process, we worked out that the difference between female and male communication patterns was very often perceived as the cause of various challenges. Vanessa and I offered exercises on typical female and male communication, which were not only instructive but also a lot of fun.
As a further topic, we worked together with our participants on challenges of delegation regarding responsibility. Based on this, we deepened our understanding of how to properly conduct responsibility dialogs and the topic of self-leadership. In addition, each participant was able to work in groups or individually on her drivers, motivators, and values. We concluded the two inspiring days together with a reflection on the individual career plans.
It was a nice experience for all participants - including Vanessa and me - to deepen these topics together in an all-female circle. Which is not to say that we enjoy working and learning with mixed groups just as much. It's nice when everything finds its place!
